Iphone Nook

Sunday, August 22nd, 2010

Finally the Nook app for iPhone has the much needed features the iPad has had for so long. I can now use the iPhone I got free from freebiejeebies as a fully functional e-reader. Barnes and Noble is considered one of the best e-reader apps available at the moment, the iPad’s version was the much loved favourite of iPad users for some time, but where’s the love for the iPhone? With the latest release of the iPhone app, they have now included many of the brilliant and almost vital features that it so lacked. iPhone Nook users have almost complete control over the text they read, whether it be the font, the size or even the line spacing. Barnes and Noble have also added the LendMe feature so you can share you books with your friends.

The iPhone version wasn’t the only one to get updated, the iPad version also got bit of polishing with the addition of it’s new rating system.

Battling Against The Printer Companies

Thursday, August 19th, 2010

Next time you see a printer company leaflet, or recycling scheme or some literature that promotes their eco-friendliness I’d take it with a pinch of salt. You see one of the problems the companies have, is that you can now quite easily refill their printer cartridges and save the resources of manufacturing new cartridges. Sounds good, very environmentally friendly but the companies don’t like this and have come up with a solution.

Most printer companies are actively creating anti-refill toner chips or other devices. Some like the Brother HL4070CDW have little variations but the goal is the same – stop people reusing toner cartridges and buy new or recycled ones from them. If you think about it the companies are using resources to create something (the toner killer chips) that’s sole purpose is to stop people being environmentally friendly. It’s a terrible waste especially as the average toner cartridge takes about 3-4 liters of oil to produce. Perhaps one day they will do the right thing and accept a profit fall in order to make these cartridges refillable.

Little Rupert Is Born At Exactly 9th Hour Of The 9th Day

Thursday, August 19th, 2010

At 9:00 o’clock in the morning, September 9, 2009 was the exact time and date when this little Rupert is born. He must be the ‘lucky nine’ to Rupert and Suzie. The boy came very early than the expected date. Rupert was in the shop printing the instruction manual for motorola v3, when Suzie had called that she is birthing soon. So, he didn’t finish the job but had given it to his assistant and he rushed home. They don’t have a car, so Rupert is thinking of going to the highway and call for a taxi. But Randolf was quick; when he heard the news took initiative and jump onto his car and drove Suzie to the maternity hospital. Just a matter of 15 minutes after she got inside the hospital delivery room, the baby came out. By the way, the baby’s name is Jericho. And it was a normal delivery despite of the expectation of many that she will deliver by caesarean section, because her tummy is so big. But Jericho’s head looks like he was done through a caesarean.

Why Companies Give Away Discount Vouchers?

Tuesday, August 10th, 2010

Why do websites give away discount codes? Well they want to increase their sales by giving discounts on their shopping websites. This methodology of online shopping websites has proved very successful as companies have increased their sales many times over. An example of such success is Plndr which offers a plndr coupon with a 40% to 60% discount.

Online shopping is becoming more and more popular each day. Keeping this in mind every company has to think of an online presence but this can never be of any success until and unless proper marketing plan is made. One of the best marketing for any online shopping is always to offer discount vouchers to its clients. This gives people a chance to buy same products at lesser rates from the ease of their homes and at the same time helps companies to increase their sales manifolds.

Now the question is how to find these special offers? Promotional offers are normally distributed through emails. This way email subscribers get the chance of using these coupon codes. Some of these people post discount vouchers on their blogs or websites and this way common internet users get access to these promotions.

A Take Away It Will Have To Be!

Monday, August 2nd, 2010

We bought a fabulous surround system and had to go through the manual to get it all sorted as it was such a tedious task to do! We looked on the section of how to connect home theater to computer as we had many things on there we wanted to watch in the living room on the large screen we had bought. My Husband did all of this usually but he needed an extra set of eyes as this task was not straight forward, there was a lot more to it! There were wires every where and I was starting to panic as we had invited friends over for a meal, drinks and a film and I hadn’t even started to cook or prepare anything yet! The manual was straight forward enough, its just that we needed to get connected so many things before we could enjoy it all that time was running out! I decided there and then that we would just get a takeaway meal delivered as this was the only solution!

Speaking In English Can Help You Communicate Better

Monday, August 2nd, 2010

My business partner Michael came down from Germany to meet us recently. His company used to supply us auto spare parts which we used to market in our country. Michael did not speak good English but he did understand what was being spoken. That was the reason why most of the times his Manager used to travel along with him. One day when Michael came to visit me I decided to invite him over for lunch at a nearby restaurant. Since the Manager had some other work he excused himself so Michael and I went to the restaurant. At one point of time Michael asked me “how to dvd to ipod”. His question left me confused but I soon understood what he meant to say. He wanted to copy DVD to his IPOD. I told him that after lunch I would help him do that. Sometimes I just wonder how difficult it is to communicate in this world because there are so many different languages being spoken. If it weren’t for the English language it would be difficult to understand one another.

Shopping For Massage Chairs

Wednesday, July 28th, 2010

Where I live, shiatsu massage chairs really appear to be the latest craze. Whenever I go shopping in the shopping malls, there would be promotions and offers on the latest shiatsu massage chairs. And what I’ll do is I’ll try out the different massage chairs for myself. I’ll sit on the different massage chairs and play around with their functions.

I’ve got to say… it’s so much fun! I really enjoy trying out all these cool massage chairs. And so far, the sales people who are promoting these chairs are always very patient with me. Though, I don’t end up buying the chairs that I try out, each time, the sales people continue to be polite and even thank me for listening to their sales talk.

So will I buy a shiatsu massage chair for myself? Well, I would love to. But they are really pricey, I must say. The cheapest one costs at least a thousand dollars while the more expensive models can go up to over four thousand dollars.
