I really do think that my wife and me will be one of the most protective set of parents a child could ever meet. Trying to get pregnant can be a real challenge for some. My husband and I had been trying for one year to have a baby and we had had no success, we decided that we would go to a fertility doctor. They ran tons of test on me and took samples of just about everything that you could think of. In the end we received a letter in the mail from the doctor saying that I was fine. Next we had to go back to the same clinic and my husband had to take a male fertility test, and the doctor later told us that all the results from his test were normal too. We were at a loss because we did not know what to do. We decided to just keep trying and not worry about it, and two months later I was pregnant. It took us one year and five month to get pregnant. Even though getting pregnant was a challenge for us, we would do it all over again to have our little baby.

My friend Darren just gave me some advice the other day to get myself a new Phil and Teds high chair after he saw how messy and dirty our baby high chair would usually get we feed our baby. I remember the first time that my cousin asked me what the best double stroller was, because I had worked in a baby store for many years and she thought I might have some good advice for her. I found myself one day looking at european strollers online, and this is something I never thought I would do in a million years, which was get caught up in the whole status thing about what you have for your baby. Whenever I was at the park about a month before, one of the women I know was using an antique stroller and she was bragging how she found it and how much she had paid for it, and all the other women there were swooning over it. The Undescribable Joys and Pains of Expecting a Baby

What can I say about being pregnant? For me, I was miserable. I told myself constantly that there was a miracle growing inside me, but until that baby came out, it didn’t seem like it. I had constant heartburn, nausea, and fatigue during both the first few and last few months of pregnancy. The mood swings were terrible, my hair and nails lost their luster. I felt horribly gross and fat – I’d tried to look fashionable in some maternity jeans but I didn’t feel good – yet I had a strong sex drive, it was the weirdest combination! I ate strange foods at strange times, making odd combinations constantly. I developed an addiction to shaved ice, I kept a bag of it in the freezer and a cup near me at all times. I think somehow I convinced myself it helped with the heartburn. My feet and hands swelled up like crazy if I ate salt or sat around too long. For every child, my shoe size grew (and stayed) a half size bigger. None of my clothes fit, they were either too big or too small. I love my children, but wow what a task to get them here!

A Birthday Our Son Will Never Forget

We recently helped our son celebrate his 5th birthday. What made this particular birthday so memorable was that he got what he has been screaming for, a couple of Kung Zhu pet hamster warriors. It’s funny what kids love to play with at times. Who would have ever thought that a toy hamster could be so entertaining.

But the thing is, I actually played with one of them myself and found them entertaining as well. If you haven’t seen these little toy hamsters you really should check them out. They can be dressed in what they call battle armor, which is a suit of armor that they fit into. Next, they have their own unique vehicle they travel in.

But the best part is the little battle arena they call it. You put two of these hamsters in there and they fight it out to see who is left standing, or should I say motoring along afterwards. At any rate, our son has never been happier, and for that I am happy as well.
